Obituary of Leo Fred Emsley McKenney

Please insert Legion and Korean Veterans crests. McKenney Leo Fred Emsley McKenney passed away peacefully after a lengthly illness at Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday April 8, 2003 in his 80th year. Lovingly remembered by best friend and wife Lily (Melnick). Long term serviceman of the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years. Served in World War II, Korean War and peacekeeper in Egypt. Life member of the Duchess of Kent Legion. Member of KVA. Predeceased by mother Meryl Emsley of Port Rowan, father Clarence of Mabey Corners, 1st wife Josephine, brother Clare and daughter Maureen Wilson. Survived by son Gary, daughters Gail Stewart and Peggy Bruce and stepchildren Donna Vogel (Tim), Don Melnick (Trudy), Doug Melnick (Fran), Darleen Unwin (John). Dear brother of sisters Holly Deering, Jane Rymer, Iris McKenney, Carollee Welch (Clyde), sister-in-law Arlene, brothers Lance (Ilene), Chuck (Marlyne), Al (Lynn) and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Saturday morning from 10 o'clock until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Cremation with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Donations to the Veterans Care Program c/o Parkwood Hospital Foundation, 801 Commissioners Road East, London, ON would be kindly appreciated.
