Sister Alexadrine Callum
At Mount St. Joseph on Monday March 31, 2003 Sister Alexandrine Callum (Catherine Callum) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 103rd year and her 84th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her nephews Dr. Harold Mountain (Kathy) of London, Dr. Tom Mountain (Diane) of Cobble Hill B.C., Alec Callum of Detroit Mi and her niece Mary Callum of Bloomfield Mis. Predeceased by her parents Alexander Callum and Evelyn Callum (Girardin), her sisters Belle, Margaret Goebel, Emily, (Sister Alexis OSU) Stella Mountain, Dorothy Mancini, Mary Summers, her brothers Kirby, Walter, Gerard and Alexander. Sister Alexandrine taught in the cities of London, Windsor, St. Thomas, Goderich during the years of 1922- 1929. From 1929 to 1971 Sister was principal in Catholic elementary schools in Seaforth, Kinkora, Windsor, St. Thomas, Goderich and Maidstone. In her retirement years, Sister Alexadrine was a Parish Visitor in Belle River, ministered at Marian Villa, London and was the Assitant Librarian in the General Library at Mt. St. Joseph from 1977 to 1979. In 1987 Sister Alexandrine retired to Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph. Sister Alexandrine was a gentle person, a great story teller and well loved by her community, her students and all those who knew her. Resting at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street on Tuesday April 1 from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock. Vigil service at Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Chapel on Wednesday, April 2 at 10 am. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
