Obituary of Michelangelo De Rita

De RITA, Michelangelo Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 4, 2013 at LHSC Victoria Hospital, Michelangelo De Rita in his 78th year. Beloved husband and best friend to Rosaria for over 55 years. Loving and devoted father of Lina and her husband Kevin Henry; and Mike and his wife Andrea De Rita. Cherished Nonno to Shane and Tina Henry; and Jenna and Luca Angelo De Rita. Dear brother of Mario (Giovanna) in Milano, Italy; and the late Paolo, Giuseppe and Lucia. Brother-in-law of Anna De Rita and Frank (Louise) De Santis. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. A truly gentle soul, Angelo was a well known local musician. The "Maestro" will be remember for his passion for music and dearly missed by his many friends and fellow musicians. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care Trauma Unit at Victoria Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street at York Street, on Friday morning June 7, 2013 at 11 o'clock. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church restoration fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
