David Dailey Delamere Magee, aged 50, died suddenly at his home in London on Thursday, December 19th, 2002. He was born in Toronto on November 19th, 1952; was educated at Humber College, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, York University and the University of Western Ontario. While in Toronto he worked on television commercials and movie sets with IATSE. He was an accomplished artist whose paintings were shown nationally and internationally. He taught at the University of Western Ontario, Wilfred Laurier University, Fanshawe College, John Paul II and Galt House. He is survived by his wife Rosemary Sloot of London, his mother Dorothy Bunt of London, brother Charles (Sandy) Magee of Mount Brydges, sister Patricia (Bill) Miles, niece Karry and nephew Regan Miles of Oakville. Numerous other relatives also survive. He was predeceased by his father Julian Magee of Toronto. With David's tragic passing the world has lost a gifted artist, an award winning professor and a truly kind, gentle, and generous soul. David was deeply loved and will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street (at King Street) in London, Ontario on Thursday, December 26th from 7 pm -9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London on Friday December 27th at 1:30 pm. As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate that donations be made to World Vision or a third world charity of your choice.
