Obituary of Glendening Joseph Philips
Philips
At Parkwood Hospital, London, Ontario on Saturday, January 26, 2002 Glen Joseph, dear husband of Josephine Philips, in his 79th year. Dear father of Deborah Philips and her husband Roger Trefzger of London. Dear grandfather of Emma Bronwyn Trefzger-Philips. Dear brother of Douglas Philips and Kathleen McInnis, both of British Columbia. Over his lifetime Glen helped countless people; from those he served while in Canada's World War II Navy in Europe, to those he worked with over the years as an economic developer, to the foster children in developing countries whom he supported, to the friends, relatives, and acquaintances who all benefitted from his kindness, his humour, his great insights, and his optimism. He was an incomparable husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. The lessons he taught his family members will enrich and vivify their lives, and his example of generosity - of mind, spirit and emotion, as well as of material riches- will live on forever. May his spirit soar, as in did in life, touching others with its brightness and gentleness. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London, Ontario, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock, where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 12 noon. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
