Arno Laschner (64) has finally gone home to rest with his Lord and Healer on Monday, April 9, 2001 from London's University Hospital. He leaves behind his sadden wife and best friend Christina, his family Rebecca, Gaby, Rick, Janet, Kathy, Vicky, Mark, Margie, Steven, Kim, Lorraine, Ken and Rhonda. Arno was also much loved by his grandchildren Melissa, Matthew, Jamie, Stephanie, Kevin, Joshua, Jeff, Tara, Joshua, Jennifer, Will, Tammy, Christopher, Andrew, Lindsay and Allicia. He also leaves three great grandchildren Dustin, Winter, and Desiree. Arno will be greatly missed by his sisters and brothers in law Bernie and Ron Cripps of Kingston, Jeanette and Bill McCarthy of Michigan, U.S.A. and Peter and Carol Melelis of London. He leaves four sadden brothers Siegfried, Otto (deceased), Dieter and Gerd and their wives in Germany. For year Arno was a well known Master Steamfitter in London and surrounding area. He took a great deal of pride in a job well done. For years he and his former wife Rosi were active in London's German-Canadian Club and were Prince and Princess for a year. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, April 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Service will be conducted at 11 am by Rev. Jeff Smith on Thursday April 12 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1 Frank Place at Wellington Road. Interment will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery following the service. A blue spruce tree will be planted as a living memory.
