Each night we shed
A SILENT TEAR,
As we speak to you in prayer,
To let you know we love you.
And just how much we care.
Take our million Teardrops
Wrap them up in LOVE,
Then ask the wind
to carry them
To you in HEAVEN above
Love your family❤️

Robin and I, as friends often do, went in different directions on our life journey. However, when our friendship was thriving twenty years ago I reveled in many visits with Robin out to Cold Stream to work on my truck with him and learn how to change the oil, change spark plugs, and about how to make petroleum jelly into an undercoating for a vehicle.
Robin's then wife Joyce and I enjoyed moments together with their family as I acted as a babysitter sometimes and was often in their home. One night I visited Robin and Joyce since I needed to chat about a pressing worry. I knew that I was in the right place with the right people. I knew deeply that I would be cared for as a human being and there would be no judgement or disappointment. That night I told Robin and Joyce that I suspected I may be pregnant. I had not yet graduated college and was three quarters of the way from attaining my diploma.
Robin drove me to a nearby store and purchased for me the pregnancy test since I was fairly frozen with fear. When we returned and stood in their hallway outside the bathroom, I gave him the test that confirmed my feelings. At that moment the feelings that I had packed down broke out and I felt like bolting into the country's winter night air by myself. Robin grabbed his coat and said he would be damned if he was going to let me shoulder this information alone and walked with me and held silence with me for as long as I needed. I loved him for this.
Robin modeled for me then the breadth of human spirit and an authentic capacity for loving and caring for another human being. I have never forgotten his gift to me and my child in that moment and in many moments after this one. So, Robin you know that I have thanked you years after this day, but once again I say thank you my brother, my friend.
I give you the gift of life that was nurtured with the love and kindness shown to me, his mother.
