Henry passed away at his home on Tuesday June 17, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Maria, loving father of Robert (St. Mary's), Henk and Lorrie Radtke (Calgary), Frederic and Joanne, and Lynette (all of St. Mary's). Predeceased by parents, Meindert and Annie Stam, brother Jan (Netherlands). Loved by his brother Meindert and Tini, sisters Annie and Bass Kooistra, Meintje and Coen Holzhauer (Netherlands). Cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Henry came with his family to Canada in 1964 and continued to work in the dairy industry until his retirement in 1985 as plant manager of L.H. Gray and Sons, Strathroy. With his wife he pursued his lifelong concern for the enviroment by co-founding the Thames Region Ecological Association (TREA) which he tirelessly supported until his illness forced him to withdraw. He also served for many years on the Board of the London Heritage Foundation. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Ave., on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Donations to the St. Peter's Cathedral Restoration Fund would be appreciated.
