Obituary of Gaetano Cicirello

CICIRELLO, Gaetano- Passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at L.H.S.C.Victoria Hospital on Tuesday November 20, 2012 in his 97th year. Loving husband of Antonina for 67 years. Dear father of Giovanna Mistretta (Benny), Lina Cicirello and Vita Pirrello (Al). Proud Nonno and sadly missed by his grandchildren Cathy DeGurse (Frank), Antonella Plommer (Dan), Len Mistretta, Donny Pirrello and Cara Pirrello and by his great grandchildren Justin, Natalie, Sophia, Maya, Amanda, Christina and Benedetto. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Italy. Predeceased by his mother Giovanna Quastella, father Nicola Cicirello, sisters Vita, Leonarda and brothers Guiseppe, and Matteo in Italy. A special thank you to Dr. Lucy Pezzutto, Linda Damore, Sara Renouf, all CCAC and Revera staff, Jenna (PSW), nurses at the U.H.- I.V. clinic and the doctors and nurses in Palliative care at Victoria Hospital for all of their care and compassion. Gaetano immigrated to Canada from Alcamo, Sicily in 1966 where he built a life for his family, continued his love of gardening and created many fond memories. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street at York Street on Thursday morning November 29, 2012 at 11 o'clock. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Prayers Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Donations may be made to the St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund.
