KNITTER, George L.-
Peacefully in his sleep at home on October 27, 2012 at the age of 87. Dearly loved husband of Genowefa 'Genie' Knitter. Dear step-father of Barbara Szarkowski of London, Mary Szarkowski (Kevin Reid) of Brampton and Joanna Camp (Chuck) of Memphis, TN. Grandfather to Darek, Tommy, Katie and Joey. Dear uncle to Halina Marczyńska and Jeannette Kulczyńska in Germany. Survived by his cousin Danuta Trynkowska and sister-in-law Fila Knitter in Poland. He served in the Polish army as a cartographer stationed in England, played professional soccer in Scotland, an entrepreneur operating his own business in England and then in Scarborough for over 35 years. His joy of life was evident in his love of sports, carpentry, painting, travel and gardening; but none more than his love of the Church. His generosity, patience and kindness will be remembered forever. He was a true gentleman who will be deeply missed. A special thank you to all those who provided comfort and care to George.
