I was sorry to read of Larry's passing.We shared a number of laughs during his time with the Canadian Underwriter when he reported on my activities. I always said my quotes as he wrote them were more erudite than I recalled speaking. Please accept my condolences.

I was sorry to read of Larry's death this morning. I met him in the summer of 1976 when I worked at the ROB after graduating from Carleton University. I didn't know him well or for long, but I remember that he was very welcoming and had a great sense of humour.

Heather - I was so sorry to read the news in this morning's Globe about Larry's passing, and all the more so since I have been meaning to get in touch with you both since receiving your lovely note of sympathy after David died three years ago. In my reporting days, Larry covered the mining beat and was a member of a highly respected mining coterie that included Dick Roberts and Steve Vitunski. I imagine all three enjoying each other's company once again and commenting on world affairs from their lofty perch. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Nean Allman-Hobbs
