Dear Betty,Marnie and family, We were so saddened to hear of Eddie's passing. I can still remember being at Laurier with Marnie and being so excited to go home with her for occasional weekend visits. Eddie (and Betty) always made me feel so welcome. I felt so spoiled being offered delicious home cooked meals as well as dinners out at Friar's Cellar. I remember thinking Eddie was always happy, seemed to just love life and was determined to live it to its fullest. I hope you will celebrate the incredibly full life he did have and that all of the wonderful memories will bring you comfort in the time to come. Dear Betty, Lisa, Susan, Marnie and David, Memories of Tarbart Terrace have been top of mind for me since hearing that Eddie has died. I remember especially how much he laughed and how rich his laugh was. He gave me my first jobs (Wayside Inn and Friar's Cellar), and later got me into Labatt's Brewery. And he sold me my first car (the burgundy 1953 Oldsmobile). My mum and dad and us kids thought the world of him. I last saw him and you too Betty at my mum's funeral...despite his health problems, he hadn't changed a bit. My sincerest condolences.

My cousin Eddie along with Freddie were like big brothers to me while I was growing up. We visited Auntie's house every summer and on one visit I said I wanted a swing. Eddie came and got me and took me outside to see the swing he made for me in the tree. When I was about seven my baby sister Anita and I came down with chicken pox on one of our visits. When Eddie came home every day he had a treat for me and he told me I was going to turn into a chicken. I was not sure if he was kidding, but I looked in the mirror often. Every Easter I got chocolate from everyone except Eddie - he gave me a live chicken, bunny and one year it was a full grown rabbit. I will miss my fun loving cousin and his memory will be in my heart forever. Love, Carolyn (Khoury) Chambers.

I was saddened as I read about Eddie's passing in the lfp yesterday. I worked for Eddie and Freddie in the catering business throughout my high school years. What incredible role models! I have always remembered those days and my mother (Bette Motton - Centennial Hall) and I would share fond memories of the two of them for years. She passed in February of this year, so Eddie will be in good company! I saw Eddie again in my adult years many times through the London Regional Art Gallery. He still had his incredible sense of calm, humour and amazing insights. I am just one cog of many in his giant wheel of life. My deepest sympathies to his family and all who had the honour and pleasure to know him. Eddie - you may be gone, but your memory and stories will live on forever!
