Jerry and I worked together at CP for a few years. I still remember his great attitude and compassion even in difficult situations. His basic sense of 'right' was always on the mark and he was one of the fairest people I've ever met. He was very inspiring to me as a junior manager in a new position. I respected him very much.

I had the pleasure of working with Jerry in a number of different situations from negotiations, to grievances, to disciplinary decisions, etc. His expertise and advise were always sound and well thought out. His high degree of professionalism and exemplary ability were not his strongest suit though. His personality was. He was a great guy to talk to about anything. He listened attentively to what you had to say. He was one of those people that always made your day better, not worse, regardless of the situation. I'm saddened by his passing and offer my sincerest condolences to his family.

Cathy, Words cannot express my shock at hearing the news about your Dad. I am so heart-broken to know that he is no longer with us. He was always such a gentle spirit with such a warm and generous heart. I have so many fond memories with "JERRY!" in them. I wish there was something to say other than I am so sorry for your loss. He was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known and he will always hold a special place in my heart. None of my teenage memories are complete without Jerry being a part of it. Surrogate dad whenever the gaggle of us girls descended on his house at odd times of the day and night... he was always prepared with a hilarious story or some antic to get us laughing. It became so frequent that anytime one of us did or said something utterly ridiculous we'd call it "Pulling a Jerry" :o)
Dad W. Though it's been years, you have and always will hold a fond place in my heart.

I remember golfing with Gerry,Meredith and Chris . The morning started out cold and rainy, but we were true golfers and carried on. The weather did get better for a few holes. Gerry the ever patient golfer waited for Chris and I to take our shots. We got very wet on a few holes and played through a few lakes on the course. When we were done Gerry thanked us for a good game
