Schiavone, Maria (formerly Potters)

Surrounded by her loving family, Maria Schiavone passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 64, after facing her illness with extraordinary courage and grace. Predeceased by her beloved parents, Benito and Grazia Schiavone, and her dear sister, Angela Schiavone, Maria will be forever cherished by her siblings Jack (Denise) Schiavone, Rose (Ossie) Molinari, and Dino Schiavone.

A devoted and caring aunt, Maria leaves behind her nephews Kyle (Hannah), Benito, and Matthew (Taylor) Schiavone, as well as Joseph (Holly) and Giacomo (Maddy) Molinari. She was also a proud great-aunt to Everlee Schiavone. Maria will be fondly remembered by her extended family both in Canada and Italy, and her memory will live on in the hearts of the many friends and colleagues she touched throughout her life.

Maria was a dedicated and passionate educator, retiring as a principal from the Toronto School Board. Her commitment to her students and the teaching community will leave a lasting legacy.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and Parkwood Hospital for the exceptional care and support provided to Maria and her family. In accordance with Maria's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
