Obituary of Dennis Charles Hodgson

Dennis Charles Hodgson (82), of Oakville, Ontario, passed away peacefully after a long battle with heart disease, on February 24, 2024.

Dennis, fondly known as Denny, was born to Herbert and Phyllis Hodgson, on February 11, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario. Dedicated husband of 62 years of Jacqueline Bonny. Loving father to his three children, Penny (Richard), Cheryl (Ron) and Michael (Colleen). Cherished Papa of Amber, Cody, Matthew, Ryan and Kiera. Proud Great-Papa of Reese and Cora. Predeceased by his brother William (Fiona), sister-in-law Marie (Peter), sister-in-law Gloria (Edward). Remembered by his sister Barb (Bob) and nieces and nephews.

Denny loved driving and going on long road-trips. He was always just a phone call away, ready to pick you up and making sure you got home safely. He had many funny stories to tell about his time boat racing, driving taxi and lift-truck at Ford Motor Co. His quirky sense of humour will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held in his hometown of Oakville on May 4, 2024. Details will follow.

We cannot thank the Nurses, PSW’s and staff at Extendicare London enough for looking after Denny over the past 2.5 years, and to the Nurses at Parkwood Institute your care and compassion towards Dad in his final days were so appreciated. You are all amazing people.
