Obituary of Sister Mary Regier
SISTER MARY REGIER, CSJ
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada and the Regier family announce the death of Sister Mary Regier at Victoria Hospital November 20, 2023. Born in 1943 in Zurich, Ontario, Mary was received into the community in 1962 at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, London. Lovingly remembered by her sister Janice, her brothers Karl (Mary), Clarence (Joan), Clare (Mary Faye), Patrick (Evelyn), many nieces and nephews and greats, her Sisters in community, and particularly by her sister Kathy and Sister Maureen Shearon who cared for her so attentively.
Sister Mary is predeceased by her father George and mother Ethel (Dietrich), and brother-in-law Raymond Hartman.
Sister Mary trained as a teacher, supplied and volunteered at St. Patrick’s Lucan, and Mount Carmel. Prior to that ministry Sister served for four years as receptionist at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Sister Mary was an avid sports fan, especially hockey, her beloved Maple Leafs, Notre Dame football, and the NFL.
Mary suffered from complex health issues, but was ever a trooper, courageously bouncing back and living life as fully as possible. She has inspired many with her resiliency and faith.
We wish to thank Dr. Peter Blake and all who cared for her most recently at the CCTC unit, Victoria Hospital.
