My deepest condolences on Paula’s passing. I worked with Paula in Operating Room at University Hospital, in the late 1990’s. She was a wonderful colleague and I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with her and call her a friend.
Thinking of you at this very difficult time, especially Camila. Camila will so appreciate the stories about her mom in the years to come.

I met Paula in 2008 when she joined 3M Canada. I had the great privilege to work closely with her for many years. Paula and I were work companions as well as friends. We traveled across Canada and the US together. We supported one another professionally and personally. Paula was such a great advocate for others. Always looking after those who needed help.
She was fun and fun loving, had the most infectious laugh. When we traveled to Nursing Conferences, we made sure that we worked hard and played hard. Paula could light up a room, and a dancefloor. She was beautiful inside and out.
When I met Paula, she drove Pink Vespa, wore Pink Leather Jacket and a Pink Helmet. As a result, I gave her the Nick Name " Pinky" and it perfectly suited her. The nickname stuck and many people at 3M and in my family knew her as Pinky. When Katie Smith (Graham) joined our team, we became " Team Pink". Team Pink was our team, and Paula was the heart of it.
We spent time with Paula as she worked through life's challenges, then She met Camillo, and found love and joy. The birth of Camila was her long-time wish, and to see such a wonderful person, become the mother she had always wanted to be was a joy.
Paula's time on this earth was far too short. In that time, she lived, she loved, and she helped so many people. May Camila and Camillo take solace, knowing Paula was loved by so many.
I am currently living in Australia and will not be able to attend the memorial for Paula. I will be taking time to remember Paula in my own way and send deepest condolences to the family.

Paula was an extraordinary human being and an extraordinary Perioperative (Operating room) Nurse. In her professional life, she helped so many people. Paula worked as an OR Nurse in Toronto and London Ontario, and for the last 10 years of her career, she was the Clinical Expert for the Perioperative team at 3M Canada.
In her role at 3M Paula was able to support the Canadian Operating room nurses association, and to help Nurses across the country, as they developed Canadian Guidelines and Standards of practice. Paula supported these experts, and this work lives on. The guidelines are followed across Canada and ensure safe and best possible care for Canadians having surgery.
This week is Perioperative Nurses week. Paula made a very large contribution in her working life, and on behalf of all Perioperative nurses, we are grateful. May her family take some small comfort in knowing, that she made a mark on healthcare in her too short time with us. ON behalf of all the Perioperative Nurses, please accept our sincere condolences.

I am so very sad to learn of Paula's passing. I had the pleasure of playing soccer with Paula for many years and was able to witness the joy her her process of having Camila. Her love of her family was evident as well as her love of soccer. She was a joy to chat with on the bench and made sitting off, as fun as it was to play. I know the role being a mom was an honour and that she cherished every facet of her family. She was also the first person I met who had the same first name as me and we celebrated our fabulous first name. Her family and friends are in my thoughts today and will continue to be as time goes on.
