Obituary of Walter Lawrence McManus

Walter died peacefully surrounded by his family on August 14, 2023, in his 76th year.  Dearly loved by his children Bessie (Todd), Mark (Danielle) and his grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Lee and Tanner and Trace McManus.  Fondly remembered by Jane McManus (Don Drennan).  Walter was born in London on September 20, 1947, the youngest son of the late Joe and Bessie McManus.  Predeceased by his siblings Rose Marie Beretta (Hans), Joe Jr. (Leona) and John.  Walter loved all things Port Stanley; his cottage on the lake, Sunday boat rides on the Rose Marie X and Lake Erie yellow perch.  Walter had a love of music and videography, and could often be found with a camera in his hand.  A special thank you to Dr. Lo and the team at McGarrell Place for the care Walter received in his final days.  Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Sunday, August 20 from 2 - 5 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Monday morning, August 21 at 11 am.  Interment at a later date.  Donations in memory of Walter can be made to Hospice of Elgin (ElginHospice.com) or the Alzheimer Society London & Middlesex (alzheimerlondon.ca).
