Darrell Holmes

Obituary of Darrell Jeffrey Holmes

Holmes, Darrell Jeffrey

Passed away peacefully at LHSC Victoria Hospital CCTC surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the age of 56.  Cherished son of Deanna and the late Robert “Bob” (March 29, 2022), dear brother of Robert J. “Bobby” Holmes and his wife Kelly Lukas-Holmes, loving uncle to Vanessa Rae Robinson (Aaron Stover) and Farin James Lukas.

Darrell was a deeply loved nephew to Deborah and Bruce Robertson and a much-loved cousin to Cristin and John McLeod and their daughters Cailyn and Grace McLeod, whom he absolutely adored and Brianne Marie Robertson. Darrell will be greatly missed by his best friends John and Mary MacDonald, Jim and Lori Brown, and Bobby Reid. Darrell will forever be loved by Kendra Brant and her family.

Darrell was an outstanding athlete as a young man and was always a sports enthusiast. Darrell was an accomplished Bass player, guitarist, golfer and lover of music. Darrell struggled with several serious health issues for the past 17 years. Despite his own issues, he demonstrated so much love and compassion for others. He often reflected on the good times he enjoyed with his dad on baseball trips to Toronto and attending Rock concerts with his brother Bobby and other family members. He enjoyed numerous fishing trips with his uncle Bruce.

Prior to his struggle with health issues, Darrell had many friends in St. Mary’s, Ontario, where he worked as a specialized material handler.

Darrell was always most grateful for his family and friends and felt truly blessed to be a part of their lives.

Entombment was held in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be most grateful if one would consider a donation to the Sisters of Precious Blood, 301 Ramsay Road, London, ON N6G 1N7 or the Knights of Columbus Council 13404, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London, ON, N6A 5N6 in memory of Darrell.
