Gruninger, Elaine

Peacefully at Mount Hope Long Term Care on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the age 81.  Beloved wife of the late Emery Gruninger (1996).  Loving mother of Greg (The late Fiona) Gruninger and Kevin Gruninger (Debbie Peters).  Cherished grandmother of Jason (Bianca), Matthew (Elyse), Robyn (Jacob), Arianne (Austen), Emilie (Dylan), and Daneka.  Predeceased by parents Fred and Ruby Zeiner.  Caring sister of Pat (the late Lloyd) Hakes, Karen (Herb) Manser, Fritzie (the late Wayne) Ogilvie, and late Billy Zeiner.  Sister-in-law of the late Kay Martin, Allan (Nancy) Gruninger, Roy (Edith) Gruninger, and Jeanette (Terry) Buchan.

Elaine will be remembered by her selfless attitude, love for family, and devotion to God. Elaine's faith was an essential part of her life that comforted her during her struggle with dementia. Her family and friends knew her as a kind soul, always willing to help and give her time to others, whether that involved supporting local craft shows, or volunteering at the church. Known for her ability to turn everything into a poem, and her love of a good joke, Elaine's sense of humor will be missed. Now that her struggles are over, we are sure that Elaine is enjoying a cold beer outside with dad.
