Obituary of Mary MacDonald

MacDonald, Mary

Peacefully passed at Elmwood Place on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, Mary MacDonald (nee Yateman/Yeatman) in her 77th year.  Loving wife of Ian MacDonald (2008).  Proud mother of Edward MacDonald (Melissa Finch) and Jennifer MacDonald (Aristidis Kappos).  Loving grandmother of Angus and Evan.  Dear sister of Michael, Cathy, Sharon, Theresa, Josephine, Joseph, Marjorie, David, Daniel, Donna, Robert, Edward and Dougie.

Mary was born July 24, 1945 in Morton, Ontario. After Mary’s family relocated to Kingston Ontario, Mary attended Notre Dame High School.  It was in Kingston that she met her husband, Ian, at a church dance. Once married, they moved to London for Ian to pursue his studies. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and member of her parish community.  Although she felt life’s circumstances were challenging, she found much joy in what she did; singing to her children, an avid reader, visiting her family in Kingston, trekking the BC forest with her children, driving to Stratford, and walking her neighbourhood chatting with the neighbours. As an active member of her church community, Mary found happiness in singing in the church choir and after retirement, volunteering to help others and giving to charity.
