Pook, Martha Shorey (nee Dawson)

At home, surrounded by her family on Friday, November 19, 2021, Martha Pook, one month shy of her 65th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Adored and loving wife of Paul Pook.  Proud and beloved mother of Rebecca (Jordan) Gipman.  Cherished grandma to Carter and granddaughter early 2022.  Dear sister of Deborah Stelzer (late Eckehard), Susan Dawson (Robert Kiefer), and Brian Sutherland (Sheila).  Dear sister-in-law of Morris Pook, Michael Pook (Linda Stokes) and George Pook (Mandy). Martha will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and their families.  Devoted and special friend to many. 

Martha was caring and compassionate, always thinking of others before herself. She had a dry and witty sense of humour, to which she maintained to the very end. Martha had a wonderful career in nursing and retired as an EMG Technologist from St. Joseph's Hospital in 2016. She loved nothing more than spending time with her husband, daughter and grandson and will be dearly missed.  

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Thursday, November 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 o'clock. As per the family's request visitors must be double vaccinated to attend. Proof of double vaccination and ID will be required prior to entry. 

Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Friday, November 26th at 10 o'clock.
