Jane Carriere

Obituary of Jane Carriere

Jane Carriere

November 16, 2056 - July 4, 2021

Mary Patricia Jane Carriere passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, in London Ontario on Sunday July 4th, after a day of visiting with her loving family. Jane battled multiple bouts of cancer for close to 4 years with immense strength, bravery and grace. Her kind heart and warm embrace will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Jane was the proud mother of Erika Comtois and Elise Comtois (Eric Walters). The beloved sister to Richard Carriere, Susan Dupuis, and Stephen Carriere. Loving aunt to Janice Scully. She will also be greatly missed by her grand-dog Reggie (Elise) who loved her deeply.

Predeceased by her parents D’Arcy Carriere and Patricia Brewer, Stephen Carriere (brother), and Denise Lauzon (step-mother).

The night Jane’s battle finally came to an end, the sky held the brightest orange glow; the setting sun wrapping us all in her warm embrace one last time. Jane moved through this world with an unmatched kindness and understanding. She mothered all, family, friends, plants, animals. Her ability to make you feel listened to and loved will be missed beyond words.

Please let the final stanza of Jane’s favourite poem, Desiderata by Max Ehrmann, offer comfort and peace to you through her passing,

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

May we all be lucky enough to move through this world seeing its beauty and peace, just as Jane did.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Canadian Cancer Society. (John T. Donohue Funeral Home)
