Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday October 13th at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Windermere Road, Tony Murphy passed away at the age of 88. He was born on January 31, 1932 in Drummond Townwship. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Dwyer). Loving father of Michael, David (Michelle), Richard (Amanda) and Maureen Ferguson (Don). Cherished grandfather of Melissa Payne (Brad), Meagan, Brittany and Jeff Murphy, Shannon Cobb (Jamie), Brianna Beaty (Blake), Delaney, Annie and Jack Ferguson. Tony was brother to Theresa and her husband Tommie McKenna (both deceased), Grant and Audrey Murphy (both deceased), Rita Burnett (John deceased), Helen and Carmen Moloughney, and Mary and Goldie Mohr (both deceased). Although Tony moved away from home shortly after starting his career, he was so proud of his roots in the Ottawa Valley. Tony’s fondest memories were spent at the family cottage on Carson Lake. He enjoyed many great trips to Florida with Helen during his retirement years. Tony enjoyed seeing his grandchildren grow up and attended many of their events and activities.
