I met Father Charlie in NL, however he knew my family from Saint John. I forget who it was but I was introduced to Charlie at Saint Teresa's I believe it was by Jim Davis. Charlie did his masonry work with my father's God father, Dougall Cummings, And through Dougall He knew my grandfather well come on his name was Alan MacDonald. We always enjoyed Charlie's stories. I'm sure there's quite a chat session going on up there now between Charlie Allen and Dougall. He will be missed by us as well. May eternal rest Grant unto him O Lord, may he rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, And I know Through faith That Charlie has reached his eternal reward God-bless

Fr.Charlie was our Spiritual Director for our Cursillo Movement in Newfoundland for many years and was dedicated to our movement. His kind words, his humility,his wisdom, his quiet way, and his love of God and the Blessed Sacrament inspired me and strengthened my faith. He was truly a man of God! He will be forever missed! Condolences to his family. You are in our prayers!

Fr. Charley - you always found a way to make us smile - your homilies - touching and meaningful - close to the common man. We loved going to breakfast with you and Fr. Dave - it was often the highlight of our weekends - you generated laughter - you looked at the world through clear lenses and believed in the ultimate good of everyone.
St. Patrick's Church owes you a debt for all of your contributions (paintings) during our Centennial and your memory will always be cherished.
