Obituary of Shari Lee Houghton

On July 17,2020 with her family by her side Shari Houghton, wife of David Houghton for 27 years, friends for 41 years, made the journey home after a brave fight and lengthy illness. Survived by her daughters Laura MacDonald and husband Dylan Bronk, Ashley Houghton, Amiel Houghton-Seaton and husband John Seaton, grand children Bloom Seaton and Juno Seaton. They say it takes a village to raise a child…it took amazing Health Care Teams without whom Shari could not have enjoyed and lived her best possible last 9 years. Although there are so many health care team members to thank we would like to name some; we do thank them all! Thank you to all the supportive nurses, PSWs and porters from the Palliative Community Care Teams, London Health Sciences Centre Chemo, Radiation, Medicine, Dialysis and Palliative Units, University Hospital Medicine and Dialysis Units, St. Joseph’s Hospital Urology Unit, Westmount Kidney Care Centre, Morgan and the awesome team from Parkwood Institute Complex Care Unit and Grace and all the team at the Southwest LHIN. Dr. Paul Dickie and Nurse Practitioner Courtney from Thames Valley Family Health Care Team. Dr. Vincent, Dr. Fisher and Dr. Moulin from the London Regional Cancer Program. Dr. Pautler from St Joseph’s Urology Department. Dr. Johnson from University Hospital Nephrology Department. Dr Sultan from LHSC Nephrology Department, Julie Ann Nurse Practitioner from Westmount Dialysis Unit. Nurse Practitioner Diana from Parkwood Hospital. Dr. Lu, Dr. Schreyer, Dr. Hertzman and Dr. Malik from LHSC Palliative Unit. Dr. Clarke, Pain Care St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dr. Parent and Ann, Nurse Practitioner from the Community Care Palliative Team. A very special thank you to Tina, Social Worker with the London Regional Cancer Program. To all those whose lives Shari touched you are invited for a visitation with the family at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, July 24th from 2-2:45, 3-4 and 7 – 7:45 and 8-9 o’clock. The Funeral will follow on Saturday July 25, 1pm at John T. Donohue Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, as per the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, a limited number of people are able to attend each visitation period and service. Please email donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca with your time preference. Cremation with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Please do not send flowers due to family allergy.
