To the Rubini family, So sorry to hear of Mike's sudden passing. I was friends with him over thirty years ago and have kept in touch from time to time over the years. He was a very caring man. I know he will be missed by many. Barb

I was so sorry to hear about Mike's sudden passing. Mike and I were good friends in high school, sharing good times in the trombone section of the CCH band, orchestra and stage band, as well as a commitment to fostering school spirit -- Mike through his leadership of the Key Club, me as editor of the Knightrider. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Mike a number of years ago at a CCH reunion, and regret that we weren't able to spend more time together in our adult years. Mike was a good friend to many, and he will be deeply missed.

To Jane and all Mike's family and friends, I would like to offer my sympathy at this time of great loss. Mike was a fantastic gentleman in the true sense of the word and the world wil be a much poorer place without him. Mike and I drifted in out and out of touch in the years since CCH and Western but he never drifted out of my thoughts. I am enriched to have known him and wish I could be at the service to celebrate his life with his loved ones but I am too far away. Love and strength to Jane at her time of grief and I wish her the understanding that this pain will get easier to bear with time (however unlikely this seems at present), James (Jim) Whitehead

Dear Jane, Frank, Family and Friends, My deepest sympathies for your profound loss. Mike was a very close friend to my brother Mark from early elementary school all the way through adulthood and I know Mark has felt this loss deeply. In high school I got to know Mike myself as we sat beside each other every morning for a number of years in the trombone section of the CCH band. I always appreciated Mike’s good humor, personal warmth, and his kind and gentle spirit, and I could see why Mark valued him so much as a friend. The world was a better place with Mike Rubini in it, and so I join in with all his family and friends to morn his passing and to celebrate and honor the wonderful person he was--and still is.

Dearest, dearest Jane, Thor and I are so very sad for you, this is such a tragic thing to happen to a wonderful couple and family. Thor and I so fondly remember Mike and wish that time had given us more of him. You are the most wonderful person and we hope and pray that with the passing of time you will be able to focus on the loveliness of your family and how much love there is for you. Dear Jane, Frank et al, I was very sad to hear the news about Mike. You have already had your share of sad news. It is hard to believe Mike, a dear friend of our family for decades, is gone from this world. Mike was a kind generous soul. His kindness was abundant, helping me many times with my car over the years, and visiting me while I was in the hospital. I am so glad I had a nice long talk with him last year at the CCH reunion. We will be praying for you that God gives you the strength in these tough times. Sincerely, Kieran M.

Mike, outside of my family you shared more life milestones with me. I don’t know actually how or why we hit it off starting in grade three, but you always seemed to be interested in taking on new challenges. You revived the KEY club at our high school, a service organization to the community. Fitting that in recent years that you had been so active in your local parish. No surprise that your son at such a young age had shown a strong desire to help his own community as a volunteer fire fighter and was active with the Catholic youth in caring about the plight of those less fortunate in lands far away. When we got together or touched base, the years seemed to just fuse together. We met many challenges together throughout our younger years. You showed incredible courage in these last few months and I know that you will be right with me when life hits me hard. Thanks for so many good times together Mike. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.
