Peacefully at Elmwood Place, on Friday, August 21, 2026, Marta Janek, at the age of 80 years.  Beloved wife of the late John Janek (2002). Proud mother of Monica Janek and her husband Erin Nicholson.  Cherished grandmother of Isla.  

Marta was born in Krakow, Poland. She loved to travel and was fortunate to see much of the world. She enjoyed her coffee, especially when shared with good company. Marta took great pride in creating a beautiful home, surrounded by landscapes that grew into an enchanting garden. She also loved playing the piano, filling her home with music. Above all, her granddaughter was the light of her world. Marta will be remembered for her beauty and humour.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, August 26 from 10 o'clock until the time of the funeral service at 11 o'clock.  Interment in St.Peter's Cemetery.  Donations to the Verspeeten Familiy Cancer Centre, c/o LHSF.ca.
