Peacefully, surrounded by family at LHSC University Hospital, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Joseph Stephen Matthews, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 60 years of Margaret (nee Stork) Matthews.  Proud father of Stephen Matthews, and Karey (James) O'Brien.   Cherished grandpa of Jaime (Taylor), Sarah (Itai), Alex (Brett), and Andrew and great grandfather of Eloise and Leah.  Joe spent his career at Kellogg's as a stationary engineer retiring when they closed the plant, he loved road trips, hosting barbeques and loved to cook and garden.  

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Tuesday, August 25 from 11am - 1pm with words of remembrance at 12:30pm.
