We were foolhardy city slickers in three canoes in a Florida swamp. Suddenly, "Man Overboard!" One couple flipped over and disappeared, then popped up screaming and coughing. Panic was starting to set in as we were wildly flailing our oars, going nowhere. Then, a calm voice, with a whispered English accent, came gliding in and sorted us all out. Under his guidance he helped us all safely to shore, as he so often did with many of us. Thanks you and merci, Mike. RIP

Marvel, girls and family, We were so saddened to hear that Mike passed. We had many chats with Mike over the last 7 years that we’ve had the cottage… and enjoyed every one of them! We know just how much he loved the cottage - he will be sooo missed there! A wonderful man and a life well-lived! Hugs to you all! ❤️ Mary and Ernie Herrington
