I was saddened to hear about Jim today at pickleball. His kindness to me was greatly appreciated as he listened to my stories about my late husband. Brenda, my thoughts are with you & I’m sending along a huge hug.

Brenda and Family,
We were so sad to learn of the passing of our nursing school pal Jim. We all loved him, he was the sweetest guy. He was one of only 3 men of over 100 in our class, so he had to have a high tolerance level for our shenanigans. But we always had fun. We know your family’s loss is immeasurable but I hope you will all be comforted by the beautiful memories of the life you created together. Although we lost touch, the heart never forgets a good friend.

Oh my gosh!! Carol! How did you ever hear about Jim? I was so thrilled to see this, and Jim woud've been too! We've had a wonderful life together..almost 47 years married. He went too soon. And he was very well loved as you might guess.
We have the best memories of Houston. Would love to hear more about how you are doing, and do you hear from Claire or Geri? This is my email if you ever get a sec: neiles9619@rogers.com.
I have this picture. So good!

So sorry to hear of Jim's death. I worked with Jim many years ago at VH in the cath lab...probably started over 30 years ago.
He was truly devoted to his work and did it well.
I haven't seen him for many years...I was one of the x-ray technologists that worked in the lab.
We had some great laughs with the Cath Lab crew...
I send thoughts and prayers for his family.
Kind regards,
Wade Phibbs

We were deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. He was such a kind and bright presence to be around. Throughout our childhood and into adulthood, his name was often spoken in our home by both our dad and our late mom, who held him in the highest regard as a truly special friend. The unwavering support and loyal friendship he showed to our dad—especially over the past 18 years—is something we will be forever grateful for beyond measure.

Sarah and John...thanks so much for your kind words. Jim asked about you guys when we were in ER...they said they loved those Teefy's! And of course, Jim thought the world of your dad. He was with us when Jim passed.
I still think of you two as little kids, but I know you're living kind and generous lives, all grown up.
Hope our paths will cross again,
Brenda

As parents of three sons who loved playing the game every summer from the early levels to their Junior year, we appreciate the dedicated people like Jim to give our kids a summer full of fun and cherished memories. Our condolences to Andrew and the Neiles family on your loss.

I too, met Jim in the cath lab at Vic where his friendly approach always calmed me, especially appreciated when I was new to a procedure. I happened to meet Jim again on the pickleball court years later, a good sport and a great player. Jim was a fantastic guy, and will not be forgotten. My deepest condolences to you Brenda and to your family.

My deepest sympathies to Brenda and the entire family on the loss of a truly wonderful man. My association with Jim began 25 years ago when the cath lab at St. Joseph's closed and I moved to the Vic lab. As a "stranger", I was welcomed so warmly by Jim and all the cath lab staff. However, more than just extending professional courtesy, Jim trusted me and I became part of the "gang". He was always supportive, caring, and compassionate. His passing is a tremendous loss.

I had the privilege of working with Jim at the VH Cath Lab. I was sincerely humbled by his knowledge and for the care he took with each patient. We had a running joke around July 12, he was green, I was orange. His passion for baseball and March Madness basketball kept me on my toes. He welcomed me with open arms into the Cath lab family and taught me so much. His love for Brenda, his children and especially his grandchildren was evident when his face lit up talking about them. Thank you Jim, your passion and compassion live on. Because I knew you, my life was changed for the good. Rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord.

I worked with Jim for 10 years in the cath lab at South Street and Vic Campus at LHSC. He was an amazing nurse, mentor and person. He trained so many nurses, medical interns and residents over the years. He had brilliant knowledge about everything cath lab. We worked hard and laughed a lot. He had such love and pride for his family, his religion and his love of sports. He was a special friend. Our love goes to Brenda and family.

I can’t begin to explain the impact Jim had on my career and my life.
I still remember my first day as a new MRT graduate. I was just 20 years old—new, eager, and finding my footing—and he took me under his wing in the cath lab, going above and beyond to share his knowledge and experience as an RN.
He laid such a strong foundation for the care provided in the cath lab, and he did it with an incredible level of detail and passion.
He taught me so much in those early days, but it didn’t stop there. Over the years, he was always someone I could turn to—a steady, listening ear as I got married, had kids, and learned how to balance it all.
More than anything, he was a constant. A kind, familiar face, his giant smile, and someone who made every day better just by being there.
I can truly say my life and career would not be what they are today without Jim.

I was saddened to hear of Jim‘s passing and I want to offer my condolences to the whole family. I had the honor of living next-door to Jim and Brenda and the children for many years. When I was in the hospital, Jim took his lunch hour and came and fed me lunch because the floor was shortstaffed. When I finally came home in two casts and when they first came off, he and The Family took me to church with them so that I could continue worshiping at Saint Justin’s.
The world was a better place because of Jim he will be greatly missed by everyone.

I was honored to be Jim's "work wife" . Lots of memories including doing the worm at our wedding, football pool, March Madness pool, playing softball with our cardiology team and our love of the Blue Jays. His legacy of his contribution to the cardiology department of Vic Hospital and LHSC will live on in those he touched. He will be greatly missed but as Jim would always say" tomorrow is another day!" Love to all the family.

So many memories. I met Jim in Texas 48 years ago. Worked with him, partied with him, celebrated his and Brenda's wedding and the birth of each of their children. 3 years ago Arne, my husband and I travelled with Brenda and Jim via our RV to California and wine country. The boys, esp. enjoyed numerous glasses of red wine. He took us to a baseball game and missed the only scoring run while he went to get us all snacks. Then there was pickleball, those fast slams. You will be missed my dear friend.
