Deacon Leo Gulikers

Obituary of Deacon Leo Gulikers

Gulikers, Leonardus Jozef Maria

Sadly, Deacon Leonardus Jozef Maria Gulikers, in his 63rd year, passed away at his home on April 16, 2026.  Leo is predeceased by his parents, Martin and Maria Gulikers, and older brother Alexander (Hilde)

Leo is the beloved husband of Cindy (nee Turner) and loving father of Maria Gulikers (Daniel Haggith) and Jessica Gulikers (Cameron Core), and grandfather (Popa) of Watson and Rhys.  Leo is brother to Ellen Koert (Rudy), Fr. Vincent Gulikers, John Gulikers (friend Maria Vogels), Angela Becker (Bill), Peter Gulikers (friend Nancy Ryan), Lillian Gould (Gary), Margaret Jesso (Joe) and Dorothy Wille (Mike) and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by Cindy’s parents Leo and Helena Turner and her siblings, Mark Turner (Sandra Spence) and Kim Turner.

Leo was well known for his very generous spirit, putting the needs of others before his own.  Children often asked him to come and play with them.  He would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought.  He served as a Knight of Columbus in various office positions, including being a past Grand Knight.  He served as a scout leader and worked as a welder/fitter.  He loved to camp with his family and often offered his services as a pig roaster, extraordinaire.  In his later years he applied to serve as a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of London, Ontario.  He was ordained as a Permanent Deacon on November 9, 2019. We ask you to pray for Leo and his family.
