Butler, Nancy Catherine
Nancy Catherine Butler (née Fehler) of London passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 78. Born October 30, 1947, in Sarnia, Ontario, she lived an independent life marked by intelligence, strong convictions, and a dry sense of humor. She is survived by her son, Michael (Ana) and his family; her sister, Mary Anne; and her nieces and nephews, Andrea, Brian, Sam, and Rose. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Marjorie; her stepmother, Mary; and her brother, Jim. Nancy had a deep love of learning and devoted many years to teaching. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and lively political discussion, and had a fondness for CBC programming and the storytelling of Stuart McLean. She valued time with friends and loved her pets, Mischa and Alice. The family thanks the staff at Oakcrossing Long Term Care Home for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Monday April 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral Basilica, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter's Cathedral Restoration Fund or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
