A long-time resident of Toronto, Ontario (1966) passed away on April 13, 2026 at the age of 89, with Tim and Shelley McDonagh, and Philip by his side. Joseph was born February 7, 1937 in London, ON to Michael & Margaret (Deane) McDonagh. He was the eldest of 8 children. He worked in Construction Sales for years and then at Canada Post until retirement (28 years). He loved gardening and photography. He was pre-deceased by his Parents Michael (1987) and Margaret (1992), Sister Ann Marie (1956), Brothers Brian (1996), Michael (2013) and Peter (2024). Joseph is survived by his Best Friend since 1977 (49 years) Philip Michaels, Sisters Eileen (Paul) Trevithick & Patricia (Trish) of London,ON, Mary (Ross) Dujay of New Glasgow, NS, Sisters in-law Ellen & Nina McDonagh London, ON, and Shirley (Duff) of Victoria B.C. many Nieces Nephews, and cousins. Especially Róisin Nic Dhonncha (McDonagh), Seán Grealy & Family, Oranmore, Co. Galway, Ireland. Joseph will be greatly missed by all of Philip's family. Funeral arrangements are with Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London, ON. Visitation will take place April 18, 2026 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart & Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society.
