Obituary of Julia Theresa Blackman

BLACKMAN, Julia Theresa (née Wielgosz)

Peacefully at Elmwood Place, with her children by her side, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, Julia Theresa Blackman (née Wielgosz), in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Alexander “Al” Blackman. Loving and devoted mother of Darlene Leiska (Earl) and Gary Blackman.

Cherished grandmother of Leah Bensette (Davin), Justine Hayslip (Matthew), Nolan Leiska (Kristin), Craig Leiska, and Brittney Blackman. Proud great-grandmother of Logan, Miles, Hudson, Everett, Jase, Emilia, Phoebe, Theo, and Max.

Dear sister of Stella Stuart. Julia was predeceased by her parents, John and Nellie Wielgosz (née Dydalavivic), and by her loving siblings: Kay Husband, Rose Livings, Ann Lee, Frances Krupa, Josephine Cherry, Joseph Wielgosz, John Robert “Bobby” Wielgosz, Bernard Wielgosz, Frank Wielgosz, and Cecelia Wielgosz.

Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, February 4th from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Lambeth Branch 501, 7097 Kilbourne Road, London, Ontario, beginning at 1:30 p.m.  Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
