Pat Prendergast

Obituary of Pat Prendergast

Patrick Joseph Prendergast, in his 71st year, passed away on January 27, 2026. Born in London, Ontario, he was the eldest of four siblings and carried that role with strength and care throughout his life. Pat was a deeply spiritual man with a strong belief in God, which guided how he lived and loved others.

He shared 45 years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Eva, whom he loved deeply. Patrick was a devoted father to Evan and Caley, a proud grandfather to Billy, Rose, Tommy and Noelle, and an adored father-in-law to Sarah and Blake.  A loving brother to Brian, Maureen, and Kevin and a loving brother-in-law to Jo Ann, Andy, Sandi, Rosanne and Brad. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews.  Family was at the center of everything he did and he took great joy in every moment spent with them.

Pat's accomplished career as mortgage specialist, a property assessor, a paralegal, and a professional property tax consultant, was defined not only by his work, but by the people who became friends and family along the way. He gave himself fully to every task, big or small, and his love of learning and teaching leaves a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Pat (Paddy) had an infectious sense of humor and a "come as you are" personality that made everyone feel welcome. He loved music and the family house was always filled with his favourite songs sharing his passion with all who gathered.  He loved to make people laugh, often with his quick wit, playful stories, or perfectly timed one-liners. His favourite saying, "May you be in heaven a minute before the devil knows you're gone," perfectly captured his playful spirit and joy for life.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Pat's laughter, joy, and warmth will be cherished always.
