Obituary of Rosemarie Simmers
It is with deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Rosemarie Elizabeth Simmers. Rosemarie was the matriarch and heart of our family. A devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a supportive sister, aunt and friend. Surrounded by her family on December 21, 2025, at the age of 76, she passed away.
Rosie was the rock of our family, the glue that held us together through every season of life. She was born to Margaret and William Patrick Jones and was one of eight children. Rosie will be remembered for her strength, resilience, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her presence was steady and comforting, Her love endless.
Beloved wife to the late Bryan Simmers. Loving mother of Keelan and Sean, their spouses Joe Di Trolio and Patti Simmers. Cherished grandmother of Avelina, Leandro, Peyton, and Quinn. Survived by her siblings Susanne (Jim Dewan), Mary Jane McKenzie, and Patrice (Mike Ollson). Predeceased by her brothers Patrick, Phillip and Maurice Jones and her sister Sylvia Kerr. She will be remembered by her extended family, nieces, nephews and their families.
Our family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Memory Care Unit at McCormick Home. Your compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication, along with the love you showed our mom, meant more to us than words could ever express. During one of the most difficult chapters of our lives, you became a source of comfort, strength, and peace for our family. We will be forever grateful for the care you gave and the kindness you showed every single day.
Friends and family will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Monday, December 29th from 5-8 p.m. Prayers at 7:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside Street, on Tuesday, December 30th at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorial donations to McCormick Home would be appreciated.
