Obituary of Irene Elizabeth LaPorte

Irene Elizabeth LaPorte (Piffero), whose life was defined by love, grace, and quiet strength, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at age 95. 

Born on March 2, 1930, in Windsor, ON, she lived a long and meaningful life, marked by kindness, humour, and a devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to many, and a steady presence to all who knew her. 

Irene had a gift for cooking, dancing, music, camping, entertaining, and card games. She found joy in family gatherings, trips to Niagara Falls, her faith, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Irene was predeceased by her siblings, including her three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Joe LaPorte, children, Sharl Arnold (Fred Arnold), Ken LaPorte (Kelly LaPorte), grandchildren, Carlie Kramer (Dave Kramer), Amberley Arnold (Jamie Schmidt), Ryan LaPorte (Taylor Graham), Chris LaPorte, Emily LaPorte (Mike Allen), great-grandchildren, Leighton Kramer, Molly Kramer, Carson LaPorte, Nash LaPorte, and Holden LaPorte.

The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Elmwood Place in London, ON, for their compassion and care. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Donohue Funeral Home, located at 362 Waterloo St, London, ON.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of London in her memory. 

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
