Passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on December 12, 2025, at the age of 97. Loving husband of Rita DeMarco for 67 years. Treasured father of Lisa DeMarco, Rose (Joe) Elia and Marilena (Andrew) Vitaterna. Cherished nonno of Mario (Jessica) Elia, Julia (Ivan) Dzaja, Franco (Katelynn) DeMarco, Gabriel (Jacquelyn) DeMarco, Nicolas (Heather) Vitaterna, Emily DeMarco, Daniel (Anna) Elia and Livia (Nicholas) Kelly. Francesco was a proud great grandfather to his 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Carlo DeMarco and his grandson Adam Vitaterna.

A man of deep family values who shared his love generously with family and friends. A devoted provider, he made many sacrifices to ensure the well-being of those he loved. He found great enjoyment in tending his garden and in winemaking, passions that brought him both peace and pride. When the occasion called for it, he always looked dapper in his suit.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate healthcare teams from Ultima and Closing the Gap, as well as the palliative care team, for their exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to our beloved husband and father.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Sunday, December 14 from 3-7pm. Prayers will be held at 5 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle Street, on Monday December 15 at 1:00pm.  Entombment in St. Peter's Cemetery - Holy Family Mausoleum. in lieu of flowers donations in Memory of Francesco to Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario and St. Mary's Restoration Fund. 

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
