Today I was choosing recipes for a new cookbook project that my siblings and I are planning for the new year. The theme is special dishes that one doesn't make everyday, either because of the amount of work involved, dietary excesses, or because they are linked to certain occasions. I am very fond of using ethnic recipes (especially Canadian), so one I chose was for Rappie Pie that Del gave me many years ago when we worked at DND's Highbury site. So I thought I wonder what he's up to now and this is how I found out that Del passed just days ago on my birthday. I offer my sincere condolences to Del's family from both my husband Randy and I. We both liked him very much - he was old enough to be our father, but he didn't treat us as children. We had a mutual respect for each other's work knowledge, experience and ethics. In addition, he was a formidable euchre opponent, usually playing with Nels Cannon against Dianne Redman and I - our games got very feisty and we had a lot of fun! I am the only one left now and I will remember. xoxo

Dear Bernice, Claude, Patrick, Rebecca, their spouses, his granddaughters, brothers and sisters and the extended Bourque family,
We were saddened to hear of Del's passing but give thanks for his life, the many special moments shared through the years, either down east or in London. May you be comforted in knowing that he remains in all of us that knew and loved him, in the memories, the stories and in the love that will continue to surround him. We keep all of you in our prayers and close to our hearts in these difficult days. All our love, Paul and Nicole.
