Obituary of Joan Maureen Duffy
Joan Maureen (nee Johnson) Duffy passed away peacefully at the age of 89 surrounded by family. She was the loving and devoted wife to Patrick for over 60 years, who predeceased her in 2020. Loving daughter of Richard and Myrtle (nee Dunn) Johnson. Joan is survived by her seven children, Matthew (Saundra), Daniel, Sheilagh Lesarge, Stephen, Richard (Pam), Maureen Lafortune (Rene) and Mark (Teresa). She is a Grandmother to 16 and a Great Grandmother to 22. She will be sadly missed by all. Joan was a woman of great courage who strongly lived her Catholic faith in every community she belonged. Joan was a long time CWL member and sang in the choir in every Parish she attended. Joan was a stay at home mom who raised her children to follow in her footsteps. She was devoted to many causes. In particular was her concern for the unborn and the young mothers following the birth of their children. She volunteered at Birthright and participated annually in the Right to Life march, in London Ontario. Joan spent her last three and a half years at Mount Hope, where she endeared herself to the many staff members of MV1 and most recently SM1 with her big bright smile and her joyful presence. Prayers to assist Joan in her journey to Eternal Life would be greatly appreciated.
