Obituary of Allan Dunbar
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Allan Dunbar, who died peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Allan will be remembered for his generosity, his easy charm, and his deep commitment to the people in his life.
Allan was the proud father of Kelly (Paul), and a loving Grandfather to Willa, who was his world and brought him so much happiness and joy. He shared his life with his partner, Susan Edmunds, whose presence was a constant source of support, love, and companionship. Allan also shared many meaningful years with Barbara Dunbar, with whom he maintained a lasting friendship until her passing.
Son of the late William(Bill) and Leah(Lee) Dunbar, Allan was brother to John (Inge), Brian (Carol), and Larry (Debbie).
Gifted with a natural way with words, Allan enjoyed a successful career in sales, where his ability to connect with others left a lasting impression. He had an ease about him that made conversations flow and friendships come easily.
Allan had a deep connection to nature and the outdoors. He was never happier than when he was on the water, especially boating. The family cottage at Ipperwash Beach was a cornerstone of his life—first as a place where he grew up, and later where he raised his own family. It was a setting that brought him peace and a lasting sense of belonging. He also found joy in snowmobiling, walking the trails in the Pinery, and spending quiet time outside, no matter the season.
Known for putting others first, Allan approached life with a welcoming, generous spirit. He cared deeply for those close to him, especially Kelly, Paul, Willa, Susan, and her entire family. He also shared a great bond with many lifelong friends and family members who will remember his warmth, humour, and loyalty.
Allan lived with sincerity, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He leaves behind beautiful memories spent in the places he loved most. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Allan to Diabetes Canada or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciate.
