Obituary of Marie Marrinan
Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge on Friday, September 5, 2025, Patricia Marie Marrinan of London in her 94th year. Predeceased by her loving husband James J. Marrinan (1992) and her beloved son Lawrence (1960).
Loving mother of Paul (Ginette), Lynn Vanhie (Jim), Lorri Hogervorst (Frank), Arlene Van Boxmeer (Gary) and James.
Cherished grandmother of Shannon Heath (Gavin), Eric Marrinan (Shay), Julie Ann Pinnegar (Chris), Karen Hutchinson (Jared), Marilyn Miller (Kevin), James Vanhie, Michelle Seabrook (Braden), Heather Earl (Duncan), Jennifer Lukey (Brad), Brian Hogervorst (Kristen) and Stephen Hogervorst and Olivia Van Boxmeer.
Adored great-grandmother to Charlie, Liam and Claire Heath, Jack, Declan and Ciaran Marrinan, John and Therese Pinnegar, Spencer Hutchinson, Mason Miller, Eliott Earl, Hugo Lukey, Leah and Tessa Hogervorst.
Loving sister to Cecilia Kelly (Jack), Helen Young, Loretta Riley and sister-in-law Katherine Marrinan, Joyce Marrinan and Marg Kenny.
Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Connolly and siblings Sister Irene Connolly, Rita and Ferg Kenny, Grace and Dominic Murray, John and Leona Connolly, Michael and Mary Connolly and Cecilia Connolly.
Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was a dedicated and inspiring mother with remarkable strength and resilience. Life was centred around her much-loved family, and she was always there to lend a helping hand. She treasured her family and friendships. Being a grandma brought immense happiness to mom’s life. She delighted in all the grandchildren’s accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them. She was a dotting grandmother who never missed a sporting event or competition. She was always the most enthusiastic fan. Blessed by her presence, she left her mark on many hearts.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Strathmere Lodge for the exceptional care and compassion given to our mother. Thank you for making mom’s final journey filled with dignity and grace. We will be forever grateful.
Friends and family will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, at King Street, London, Ontario on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Prayers at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 69219 Bronson Line, South Huron (Mount Carmel). Interment at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery (beside the church) following the Mass.
