Obituary of Marylynne Elizabeth Nagle
Peacefully at LHSC University Hospital, London on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the age of 91.
Beloved wife of the late William Nagle Sr. for over 60 years. Loving mother of William (Tina) and David (Doreen). Loving nana of Emma, Andrew, Sean, Joe and great-grandmother of 4. Survived by her siblings Carol Smith, Bill Foslett and Ted Foslett. Predeceased by her parents Orville and Cora Foslett and siblings Bruce Foslett, Dodie Moore and Ron Foslett.
Marylynne grew up in a large, close family. She was born and raised here in London with her six brothers and sisters who she kept in touch with all of her life. She loved animals, especially dogs — and especially pugs — whose companionship brought her great joy. One of her simple pleasures was watching the TV show Hudson & Rex, and she lit up whenever Rex, the loyal German Shepherd, appeared on screen.
A passionate Toronto Blue Jays fan, she followed her team faithfully through every season. Her love for life's small joys was evident in her favorites: a meal of Archie's Fish and Chips, family holiday gatherings filled with food and conversation, a good piece of chocolate, and a warm cup of tea.
Her generosity extended far beyond her home. For many years, she volunteered with the Red Cross in Owen Sound, offering her time and compassion to help those in need. When she lived in Kincardine, every Christmas she worked to make sure that families who were struggling had something to celebrate, toys under their trees.
Alongside her husband, she also welcomed Rotary Exchange students from places like Brazil, Thailand, Colombia, and Finland, opening her home and heart to young people from across the world.
She will be remembered for her determination, her humor — sometimes dry, sometimes surprising — and her ability to persevere through life's challenges.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the love she shared, the laughter she inspired, and the many acts of kindness she left behind.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 1:00pm. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marylynne to the London Humane Sociey would be appreciated by the family.
