Obituary of Kata Rukavina

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Kata Rukavina (née Šnjarić) announce her passing at Westmount Gardens Long Term Care Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in her 89th year.Beloved wife of Mile (Mike) Rukavina for over 62 years and the best mama to Vesna (Rob) Jarvis, and Željko (Patty Wilson) Rukavina.  Loving, funny, and selfless baba of Erik, Aaron (Dakota), and Andrew.Predeceased by her parents Ivan and Mande Šnjarić, brothers Mile and Joso, and sister Manda. She will be dearly missed by her brothers Ivan (Nada), Ante-Martin (Josie), Dragan (Lucy), and sister Mare (Nikola), as well as her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins in Canada, Croatia, Germany, and Australia.Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with prayers at 7:00pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leopold Mandić Croatian Church, 2889 Westminster Drive on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00am.  Entombment to follow in Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers donations to St. Leopold Mandić Croatian Church would be appreciated.
