BALFE, Gerard Kevin
June 10th, 1953 - May 31st, 2025
After a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Gerard Balfe, age 71, a native of Dublin, Ireland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
Beloved husband of 47 years to Ann Balfe. Dear father to Sarah (Matthew) Campbell and Garreth (Carrie) Balfe. Loved by his grandchildren, Neave, Jack, Willow, and Daisy. Devoted brother to Andrew (Marie) Balfe, late Sean (Marie) Balfe, Colm (Patricia) Balfe, and Celine (Alan) McIsaac. The son of predeceased Sean and Kathleen Balfe. Adored and cherished by all extended family and friends near and far.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at McGarrell Place Long-Term Care Home for their compassionate care, their kindness and love, for Gerard was wonderful to see; he was truly loved and cared for. We, his family, were able to spend the last few days with Gerard, feeling like we were at home.
Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday evening, June 4, from 7-9 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Thursday morning, June 5 at 11:30 am.
There will be a Celebration of Life at The German Canadian Irish Club, 1 Cove Road, London, Ontario following the Mass
