Kathleen Pasquini

Obituary of Kathleen Imalda Pasquini

Kathleen Imelda Pasquini (nee Dandeno)

Oct 1, 1946  - May 23, 2025

The Pasquini family wishes to announce the passing of our wonderful Mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Kathleen was called by the Lord at her peaceful home with her loving husband Henry by her side.

Kathleen was born in London, Ontario to Fred and Merion (both deceased).  She is missed greatly by Henry, along with her daughter Ana (Arman) and her sons Lachlan and Harrison of Calgary, Alberta; her son Paolo (Diana) and their children Mateo and Gioia of Toronto, Ontario. Kathleen’s grandchildren were everything to her and she loved each of them dearly.

Kathleen is also survived by her brother Mark and sister Anne, both of London and Deirdre of New Jersey, U.S.A.  Kathleen is survived as well by brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Nicoletta of Toronto.

Kathleen will be fondly remembered for the love and affection she shared with many of her nieces, nephews, and the children of their growing families throughout the United States, Europe, and across Canada.

In memorial, we acknowledge Kathleen’s beloved siblings that have passed away.  Sister Ursula of the Order of the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, sister Mairi, and brother Andrew.

In her early career, Kathleen served as a dedicated nurse’s assistant in the obstetrics ward, where her steady hands and warm heart helped countless new lives and mothers. She had a quiet strength that brought calm in moments of intensity, and a nurturing spirit that touched all those she cared for.

Kathleen was a member of the Catholic Women’s League in the Diocese of London for more than 30 Years. She held many important positions during this period and is well-known and appreciated by many of its leadership and membership throughout the region for her contributions to promoting peace and faith, service, fundraising, and exemplifying Christian ideals in home and within the community.

Kathleen was born into a very musical family and always found joy sharing it with others. She truly loved to sing and play the piano. Kathleen was an active member of many choir groups but found her place singing as a choir member at St. Peter’s Basilica. Her talent obvious to everyone, Kathleen was asked to cantor many masses, funerals, and weddings.

As her in-laws aged, Kathleen began to sing at Mount Hope retirement home Sunday services for the senior residents, of which her father and mother-in law were residing. Her energy, dedication, and love for music and songs of faith brought a tremendous amount of happiness to residents, visiting families, and staff for many years.

Kathleen loved to travel. With Henry – the master itinerary planner – they travelled to Italy, many Caribbean islands, enjoyed multiple cruises, and places across Canada as often as they could. On their travels, they always enjoyed the adventure of new places and cultures, laughter, food, and reconnecting with family.  A lifetime of memories made captured by many photos and videos that are now passed on with joy to her family and friends.

Kathleen, with her creative curiosity and deep love of history, was the family’s beloved genealogist. Whether tracing a tangled lineage or recalling the name of a distant cousin, she always had the answer. Her research, built from historical records, personal interviews, and many hours spent in the dusty archives of churches, cemeteries, and city halls across Canada and Europe resulted in a multi-binder legacy that grew with each new discovery. A notepad always sat ready on the kitchen table, capturing names, updates, and family milestones with care. Her decades of dedication are a gift we deeply cherish.

Kathleen was also a gifted quilter. For decades, she would make beautiful quilts for new born babies in the family and for those she cared for. All of them very unique, to be well used, and now precious family heirlooms. A hobby for her like so many others – singing, family history, quilts - done with immense pride, modesty, and sought-after by family and loved ones.

Although Kathleen faced health challenges with quiet strength and grace, her faith remained and her compassion and kindness was unconditional. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love and care for Henry and her family will be deeply missed, and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Kathleen’s kindness and strength will live on in Henry and the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter, (absolute scrabble domination of everyone) and compassion. We take comfort knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
