Kevin Jerome Coelho

September 30 ,1944 - March 13, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kevin Jerome Coelho, who passed peacefully on March 13, 2025, at home in Dorchester, Ontario. Kevin was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, businessman, teacher and community member.

Kevin was born in Karachi, India to Patrick and Martha Coelho and raised in Mahim, India. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1969. A graduate of McGill University, he was first a teacher and then a guidance counsellor at MacDonald-Cartier High School in St-Hubert, Quebec. He was president of the National Association of Canadians of Origins in India (NACOI) and led that organization for several years. In 1986, Kevin with his beloved wife Judith (Judy) started their own successful financial planning business, Kevin Coelho & Associates, a franchise of Citigroup's Primerica Financial Services.

Kevin is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Judy, his siblings Horace (Rita), Derek (Rowena), Francis (Vivienne) and Patricia, and his three daughters Dr. Marisa Derman, Dr. Ramona Coelho (Dr. Philippe Violette) and Dr. Kareena Coelho (Måns Norelius). He was Papa to seven wonderful grandchildren: Isabelle, Kateri, Madeleine, Andrew, Kevin, Eric and Joseph, and was loved by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends. 

For those around him, Kevin always seemed larger than life, a person of courage and audacity who boldly strove to fulfill his dreams, to care for those he loved and to fight for what he believed in. He was guided in all things by his Catholic faith. He will be deeply missed. 

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, March 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 o'clock with prayers at 7:45pm and at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1 Fallons Lane on Saturday, March 22 from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1 pm.  Those wishing to join the family via livestream please CLICK HERE  Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to CNEWA.org would be appreciated.
