Ed will be missed. I went to RMC as well, Late 70's and early 80's. Whenever a long weekend came up, EB would ask me what I was doing. Since family life was 'interesting'. But Ed and Irene used to take me to their home. Then he made me a prefect, much to his chagrin I'm sure. He had/has a great sense of humour. He once told us that Brian Molony was his best economics student. Too funny. Then, walking into the locker room, where the thugs had graffitied EBKC. He laughed and said said oh great, how did they know that Knights of Columbus plays a part in my life. I liked him, and he was a good man.

My dear Irene,
What great times we had with you and Ed over the years from our travels to your dinner parties.
I was relaying just some of them to a friend recently and then got thinking even more of our times together.
Oh those wine tours.....Northern Michigan, Finger Lakes, Pittsburgh....the list goes on.....He had a full life and will be missed.

To the Blackmore family:
My sincere condolences for the loss of Ed. I was a student at RMC in the early 70s, and I can assure you he was well liked by all his students. About 15 years ago he arranged a reunion at RMC, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ed could light up any room he entered. He never took life too seriously. He could always make the best of any situation and bring out the best in anyone. Ed was a saint of kindheartedness in so many ways. His kindness, gratitude and sense of humor were such natural qualities. His love of life was contagious. Those lives he touched are ever so fortunate.
He was so passionate about fostering strong connections and cohesion with family and friends. Thank you for that Ed.
Jerry and I imagine that he and my Mom Jane Senick, his cousin, are having many laughs together again.
Irene, Michele, Michael, Chris and Karen, may his spirit continue to touch your hearts every day.
Fondly, Joy McElroy and Jerry Chiapparo

Dear family,
Sad to learn that Ed has past away. Hebisbin my thoughts as a very pleasant, patient and friendly person. I rememberthe time I visited Canada, where he showed me Niagara falls, Fort Erie. Also he visited the Netherlands where we had a pleasant time.
He was a friend and I regret we did not meet more.
I wish Irene and family a lot of strength with this loss.
I am convinced Ed will watch over you all from heaven.

Wow, 40 years later, those names ring a bell. Not only did I wash dishes with you (I suspect), I learned how to play pool and ping pong, while Father Harper just yelled at us. And let's not forget the nasty Irish priest, Father Brereton.
Derbyshire taught me Latin, but more importantly, he taught us how to do cryptic crosswords. Or at least, he taught us that, so he could get all the answers.

I am saddened by the passing of Ed Blackmore. I have known Ed since the late 80's when he was involved in Real Estate a bit and over the many years working on his computer in some capacity. He was involved in so many things related to RMC, travelling the globe, KoC, making slideshows (oh how many pictures he has!). I offer my condolences to his wife, family and friends on their loss.

Dear Irene and family,
We were saddened to hear of Ed's passing. Some of my fondest memories were of 'the boys' cooking on New Year's Eve. Thank you both for inviting me to visit for the day while in Mexico. I remember how lovely it was to have a 'home' and a 'family' for a wee bit while I was on the ships.
Thinking of you all at this most difficult time.

Saddened by the passing of one of my educators. Mr Blackmore was our Vice Principal in charge of discipline at our private residential prep school a job that I always thought he was ill suited for given his kindness, empathy and fairness. As one of our teachers he was part of a strong core of educators whose excellence set an incredible foundation for me and my classmates, the Class of ‘78, in our various academic pursuits and chosen professions. It wasn’t just a job to him. He continued to follow many of us after graduation showing just how much he truly cared. RIP Mr. Blackmore.

Irene & Family:
Words, however kind are unable to mend your heartache. Losing a beloved patriarch that meant everything to his family is a great loss for us all. We were only graced with Ed’s presence here at the Chantry for a short time but could immediately see what a wonderful human being he was. Knowing Ed is free & at peace eases the sadness in all our hearts. Sending our condolences to you & your family during this sad & difficult time.

Ed was always a bright spot in any room and we will miss him very much. We spent many lovely evenings during our Dining In times with Probus, enjoying Irene's wonderful food and Ed's jokes and stories. He was a great conversationalist and he lived life to the fullest, never seeming to let his ill health in later years stop his zest for life. Our deepest sympathy to dear Irene and family. Thank you Ed for doing so much for the community and being such a great leader at RMC! He always went way beyond the call of duty for the students in general but especially the boarding students. He organized great trips to sporting events and helped us to make connections at our sister schools, creating memories that last a life time through all of the special events he put together with and for us. He organized the residence student council and the prefects and took such great care of all of us. What a blessing to have Mr. Blackmore as our leader! He inspired me to be a teacher and an administrator and I am sure he inspired many others to teach, lead, organize and bring fun and laughter to their families and to the others in their lives. God Bless you Sir!

Irene, Michele, Christopher and Family
On behalf of ARMO (Association of Regina Mundi Old Boys) please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Ed.
We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to Ed for his years of service at Regina Mundi College as Teacher, Vice Principle and all round good guy, in the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s, his leadership and direction helped educate and direct the lives of many young men for which we are forever grateful. In Retirement, Ed continued to guide our ARMO Group as a Staff Representative, Ed spent countless hours preparing agenda’s, recording minutes of meetings, organizing and quarterbacking our meetings right up until his passing, again we are forever grateful. He also was solely responsible for publishing a Quarterly RMC/ARMO Newsletter (with some guest writers) which everyone enjoyed receiving.
Rest in Peace, old Friend you will be missed.
Sincerely and with our deepest sympathies.
All the Members of your ARMO Family, "Valeam Tibi Servire“

So very sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. He hired me in 1983 as a “Monitor” for the boarding school. My interview consisted of Ed doing all the talking and me listening. He concluded saying I seemed like a nice guy and to let him know if I wanted the job. I lasted 38 years with the School Board. Ed was kind and funny, he stood up for his staff. He made you feel important and appreciated. My condolences to his family and friends. We lost a good one.
Sincerely,
John Vella

As a student and boarder of RMC 83-87 I had the opportunity to spend a great amount of time in Mr “B”s office trying to talk my way out of demerits. I truly believe that he got a kick out of all the excuses we could come up with. I also remember him opening his home to a few of us in one weekend although I don’t remember why. He was always strict but also fair and liked by everyone. You will be greatly missed, rest in peace Ed
