Obituary of Petra Judy Boer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Petra Judy Boer, age 47, after a courageous battle with lupus. Surrounded by her loved ones Petra peacefully passed on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Victoria Hospital, London, ON
Born on October 21, 1977 (London) she was the daughter of Peter Boer (predeceased 2021) and Ramona Davis.
She is survived by her loving daughter Hope Southwell, committed life partner Michael Edwards (Bud) and cherished stepchild Michael Halfday. Petra is also survived by her partners children Justine Edwards and Deven Edwards Davis, to whom she was quite devoted. Further survived by her mother Ramona Davis and her sister Medina
Petra was known for her boundless love, strength, and resilience. Despite many life challenges, the biggest of which was lupus, she never gave up fighting. She was always there for others, putting their needs before her own. Petra had a deep love for animals, and opened her heart and home to many pets throughout the years
Petra had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed trips to Port Dover for Friday the 13th days. She also loved rock music, and she truly enjoyed The Tragically Hip.
Petra was a professional, hardworking, reliable individual. During her career she provided support to both LacMac Industries and the London Police Collision Reporting Centre. Petra also made a lasting impression during her time at the Highland Golf and Country Club, where she was known as a friendly, top-tier bartender. You could find her smiling behind the bar during golfing events and curling bonspiels. Petra made a significant impact wherever she worked and earned the respect and admiration of all her colleagues.
Petra’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her unwavering love for family, her incredible kindness, her strength and dedication to making sure everyone around her felt loved, safe, and taken care of.
A visitation for close family and friends will be held at Donohue Funeral Home on February 16th, 2025, from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Petra Boer may be made to the Lupus Ontario, a cause close to her heart after living with the disease for many years. To donate please CLICK HERE.
